Ok so i have a job a little different than alot of yours, if not all of yours..
I work in a nursing home as a waiter, so i dont make tips. Though that means that i dont exactely have to be the most inviting person in the dining room (because they have to eat and there is only one dining room they can eat in), i hold myself to give the best service i possibly can. So i should be appreciated right?
I mean I get to know each individual and all their habits, likes and dislikes. I mean ive gotten to know each person so well i dont even need to ask what they want I know just because i know what they like. But to the point of this thread.
There is one lady, by the name of Mrs. Brown, she is mean, unappreciative, and totally disrespectful (not to mention down right rude, basically mannerless). Everyday she always gets a salad, tomato juice and cranberry juice. I always put it out for her right before she sits down so she doesnt have to wait, cause shes extremely impatient. Today i did my routine and she sat down filled out her menu, and then as soon as i picked it up i took it to the kitchen to get the plate ready, as soon as i walked out of the kitchen (only five minutes after i picked up the menus) she yells across the dining rooms "Wheres the food!?!?!". I chuckled under my breathe, i knew it would be a long day. She yells again so I came closer to her and told her that it would take a little bit to get all the plates. she says to the person next to her "this is rediculous, and they hire scmucks to wait on us." obviously i took it a little bit offensive. I finally got her plate out five minutes later, just like i told her. Still she had no sign of gratefulness and i got no, thank you or anything.
I dont know if any of you have ever been in or ever will be in my posistion as i am in everyday i work. So I guess im asking for ideas how i should hndle the situation........ (if you read this entire post you obviously have a lot more patience than i could ever expect ffrom anybody) so i thank you for reading through this. Post your ideas of what i should do, thanks for your help.
