Is it just me or is it just plain rude when people talk on their cell phones in a restaurant? Not only was this uy on his phone, he was on his phone while he ordered and during his entire meal ( might I add he was with who I'm assuming was his gilrfriend). I had half a mind to not help him until he got off hi phone. Why don't people have a little bit more common sense??

Ok I know it's rude when people talk on their cellphones. It annoys everyone. It annoys the people who do the same exact thing. But you SHOULD not say or even think about not servicing them because if you do it to one person you don't get tipped. And if you do it to enough people you have no job. So as much as customers need to respect us, they are your employers in a sense. They're the ones who tip you.

Actually, as the owner of the restaurant, I get no tips although I work the floor. I think of them as children and if nobody tells them that what they're doing is wrong, they will keep doing it. I've actually considered writing a satirical book about dining etiquette. I've dealt with a plethora of rude people, even someone who called me a stupid B**** because I refused to serve them alcohol ( had no ID). It's not all about tips.
